Ibhar supports clinical research and collaborative studies that generate real-world insights into infection prevention practices, antimicrobial resistance patterns, and stewardship outcomes. Through partnerships with hospitals, clinicians, and research institutions, these initiatives translate operational healthcare data into evidence that informs clinical decision-making, strengthens stewardship programs, and advances knowledge in infection prevention and antimicrobial resistance.

Hand Hygiene Study
This multicentric observational study evaluated hand hygiene compliance among healthcare workers across 92 hospitals in India using a digital audit tool based on the WHO Five Moments framework. More than 160,000 hand hygiene opportunities were analyzed to measure adherence across ICUs and wards. The findings highlight variations in compliance and underscore the importance of digital surveillance systems in strengthening infection prevention programs and reducing healthcare-associated infections.
American Journal of Infection Control
Hand hygiene is a significant component involved in preventing transmission of health care associated infections including COVID-19. Compliance to hand hygiene among the health care workers (HCWs) requires evaluation and timely feedback. “You can’t improve what you can’t measure” is a famous saying and this multicentric study was designed to measure hand hygiene compliance and have birds eye view on hand hygiene compliance in COVID Intensive care units (ICUs) and wards across India.
The Effectiveness of a Hospital-Based Antimicrobial Stewardship Program:
This three-year observational study evaluated the impact of a hospital-based antimicrobial stewardship program on antibiotic utilization, prescribing compliance, and resistance trends. The results demonstrate how multidisciplinary stewardship interventions can improve prescribing practices and support better infection control and patient outcomes in hospital settings.
