The results of the largest hand hygiene study in India are now published in the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC).
The paper, Comparison of hand hygiene compliance among healthcare workers in intensive care units and wards of COVID-19: a large scale multicentric study in India, analysed 161,056 hand hygiene opportunities across 92 healthcare facilities. Audits were recorded on the IBHAR mobile application, based on the WHO hand hygiene audit tool.
A companion paper on the impact of hand hygiene audits, the HHAC study, is published in the Indian Journal of Medical Microbiology.
Healthcare leaders, policymakers and practitioners can read the full papers for the detailed findings and recommendations.
