IMA partners CAHO and Ibhar to train medical fraternity
Indian Medical Association (IMA) has partnered with technology provider ibhar and Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organisations (CAHO) to train medical fraternity to get certified by the National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Healthcare providers.
This comes in the backdrop of the looming deadline set by the Insurance Regulatory Authority of India for all healthcare providers to get entry level National Accreditation Board for Hospital and Healthcare providers (NABH) certification by June.
Addressing media here, Vijay Agarwal, President, CAHO, said of the 80,000 hospitals in the country, only 600 have full accreditation and another 600 entry level certification. To ensure that standards are followed and quality healthcare is provided, certification is important.
Through ibhar’s platform hospitals can access all the content and forms needed for the accreditation. In addition select hospital staff will be trained to monitor the implementation process. The company also provides them virtual consulting. C Bernard, Managing Director, ibhar, said these services cost about ₹15,000-25,000 per month depending on the size of the hospital. The hospitals may withdraw the service after one year, he added.
TN Ravishankar, President, IMA, Tamil Nadu, said the training will be conducted in clusters at district level.
